VDash engine optimization?

Post by Yaworski »

I don't think that I've posted this question here. If I did, I apologize for double posting.

I have the VDash software which offers an option to "optimize" my engine for more horsepower.

Has anyone here done it? Is it worth it? Dangers? Pitfalls.

More horsepower is always better. I kinda miss the get up and scoot from the Turbo in my V70.

Which engine were you thinking about optimizing? Or perhaps you already did? I have been thinking of optimizing my own S60 2.0T automatic.

Hey btw I saw on their website that they get their optimizing software from two different er companies. One is American and the other one is Dutch. And from what I can see online it seems to be more or less similar to BSR. Its a pretty good deal from Vdash 199 euro, BSR is almost twice as much.
BSR has good reputation when it comes to tuning Swedish cars in general and can be trusted.

If anyone has any experience with Vdash (D5T5) optimization please I would love to hear your comments :)

Update: I have now verified the ECU software in my 2006 2.0T S60 as well as optimized it to Stage 2.
Here is how it went:
First off I tried to verify the ECU software, it was original. On my first attempt the car rebooted and failed. After the car would not start and I freaked out! I disconnected the battery and the car fired right up, but this time with a SRS service urgent message. I connected to Vdash to delete the codes, but most of the modules were not communicating! I freaked out again... I then checked every fuse possible and they were OK. Tried a few more times to connect to Vdash and Vida (getting connected to the softwares are not always successful) and suddenly I was able to delete every fault code again. So back to square 1:
I could then successfully optimize to Stage 2 (had no problems), it took me 2 minutes.

The results of Stage 2 in a 2006 2.0T S60 is definitely noticeable. Now is it worth it? Probably! I will post an update on the long term effects later.

Update 2 years after: The car has been running all fine since optimized. No unexpected wear or damage. No change in oil consumption.

Hi-curious...Why did you choose ST2 over ST3?
I am looking at ST3 upgrade for my 2004 S60R M66 and I cannot think of a reason to get a lessor package?
From what I can gather, the 2.5 cna easily handle 355HP stock.

That's false. Without shimming it will fail at stock let alone at 355.
