93 850 Recirc damper motor calibration?

Post by 850man » Sat Oct 19, 2019 12:01 pm

I am installing a good used replacement recirc air damper motor (Volvo #6849557).

I connected/ installed motor and observed the actuation rotation (angle) exceeds the damper arm's travel, causing noticeable motor to bog under this stress.

I carefully opened the motor and everything looks great (gears, lubrication, "potentiometer" tracks free of debris, etc.)

**Is there a ECC recirc damper motor calibration required? If so, can someone share with me this procedure so I can reduce the motor rotation? Other suggestions? Thanks!

I haven't done the calibration procedure before, so I can't offer help on that.
But, I have replaced the damper motors before. If you rotate the replacement damper to the same position that the old one was in when you removed it, you may not have to do a recalibration.
