2000 s70 power/throttle issue

2nd owner since 85k mi...2000 s70 non turbo 227k mi currently....car is running great 25mpg local and 31mpg hwy. No leaks and no flickering lights...
The issue is random but happens almost every time its driven....seems to get power cut in half while driving...as if the 12v system is running as 6v the popping back up to 12v...or like someone is covering the throttle body with their hand and then letting go... this can happen from 0-40mph or even while cruzing at 70mph on freeway....idle quality is dead on 850rpm and never fluctuates. Any suggestions?

The electronic throttle bodies wear out after about 150k miles so you might be due.

Not much else on the ME7 cars or DENSO that can do this. Spark plugs and coils fresh?

Yes...plugs and coils are good. ...no check engine codes.... could I test the TB by removing intake hose and turning key to run but not start and fluctuate the gas pedal to see variations in throttle plate?

You really need VIDA and watch the two sensors during throttle body operation and log failures, by the time a visual shows anything, your car is in limp home mode

Thanks for the help...but the car never throws any code or goes into limp mode. ....it's strange

That’s when VIDA shines as a diagnostic. It lets you monitor parameters so you don’t have to wait for codes.

The ETB has to have a fatal error to trip an ECU code

Could this be a fuel pump issue....daughter was driving...I was passenger... and it started acting up like it has no power and I could hear a clicking/ticking coming from rear of car...when the power came back normal the clicking/ticking went away

Could be. The fuel pump on the 1999- is much more reliable than the -1998, but monitoringfuel pressure at the rail will tell you if there is a delivery problem. No vacuum controlled fuel pressure regulation on ME7 or DENSO cars , 1999-
