@aaronlife - were you able to get the issue resolved? I'm having a similar problem with my XC60. Dealer is quoting $600 to replace the left automatic arm and $1,100 to replace the pump. Any advice? As a last resort, could I replace the left automatic arm with a manual one (right version), and simply not use the automatic function? $1,100 is too much to invest in a 10+ year car. Thanks!

Yes, the new arms didn’t help. I ordered a used pump from https://www.erievovo.com/ for $200-$250 (can’t recall) and swapped in my pump computer (that was different model # and they weren’t compatible I guess), and that solved it. The used pump has a lifetime warranty.

The issue seems to be a valve in the pump. You can test by removing the inside hatch cover and disconnect the hoses from the pump. The hoses have a valve that closes and keeps fluid/pressure in the lines. When I disconnected the hoses from the pump the hatch suddenly stayed up.

Had I started with that test I would not have replaced the two arms.

I got the right side cylinder from fcp euro, that was under $100, along with hydraulic fluid for the pump which I didn’t really need either.

The left cylinder I didn’t need was $300 new from oemvolvoparts.com

I suspect erie vovo has used left cylinders if it’s not your pump. They are also very familiar with the issue. If you give them both the pump and computer dare codes/part #s it can help.
