ETM vs Bosch Throttle switch

Post by subzerocarfanatic »

I have a confusing question, my 2000 Volvo C70 HT 2.3 Turbo has the typical ETM , so what is the part by BOSCH called volvo throttle switch, this is confusing, the guy i bought my Volvo from bought a new one of these for my car yet i can not figure out where it would go since my car has the ETM it seems this part should not exist yet they have this listed for my car and i have a new one in the box, part # is BOSCH
part # 0280122001, Can someone please clear this up, please!

I don’t think your car uses that part at all. Your throttle body is made by Magneti Marelli, not Bosch

That's what i thought, but if you go online and look you will find one listed for my model volvo. It looks like a regular TPS , i thought maybe for the gas pedal or something,it must go somewhere otherwise why would their be several manufactures making one for my car.Just curious where it applies.

Bad parts information is rampant in the auto industry. Dont take parts listings and applications as gospel.

Try putting the Bosch number into search function on FCP site - if nothing comes up, I think its a part for something else.
