I have a 95 855 turbo that ive almost got back roadworthy (thx to the help here!)

One question i have os re: the turbos.

My complete parts car is a 1997 855 turbo

What turbo does my parts car have ?
16T?

And my 95 has a 13G?

Is this correct?

I should swap turbos right? 16T is better right?

95 turbo cars were all HPT (high pressure turbo) engines, with a 15g.

In 97 there were two NA market 850 turbo cars
- HPT with a 15g, this was the R and the T5 trim models
- LPT (low pressure turbo) with a 13g, this was the GLT trim model

If you want to be really sure what turbo it is, just look at the name plate on the turbo. You can do this while they are in the car. It will say 13g, 15b, etc. see viewtopic.php?f=1&t=91466&p=521707&hili ... 3g#p521707

Smaller turbo means less boost yes, so the 13g provides less boost than the 15g, etc. The 16t first came on HPT cars, the T5 and the R.

There are other factors to consider than just the size of the turbo when putting together the power plant. For example, there is generally no point in switching the turbo unless you also switch the injectors and the ECU.
