07 S40 starter

How do I remove the starter. There is a "click" from the starer but it will not turn over.
The air box looks like a job to get out first. New to Volvos but I fix all my own cars. These things are different for sure. Lot of special tools needed. Not sure if I am sold on them yet.
The 2007 S40 I have is in great shape though. 114K with engine and turbo at 76K.

Thanks for this, those are some detailed illustrations. The engine is the 5 cylinder solid cam version. Nice power.

Hi, where can I buy that fantastic manual for a 2005 V50? I bought a manual online with details just like that a few years back for a VW Golf from factory-manuals.com. They do not have any for Volvo though. My Haynes V50 manual graphic is very hard to understand.

You don't need to buy it. Go here read at least pages 1, 6 & 16.

I just want to say thanks for the help. Awile back I used the pics to help me fix the issue. I never did get the air box out, came to the conclusion that the engine needs jacked up a bit to get it off. But I did see the bolt for the 12V wire was loose. Tightened it and it fixed the issue, THANKS.
Another problem, might start a thread on it. Same car is leaking water on the driver side floor board. Factory sun roof car. Its a nice car and want to keep it that way. Where are the typical places to look ? I know jettas had a drain tube for the sun roof that would cause problems if plugged. Does this car have one ?

The front drain hoses runs down the A pillars. If it fails the water drains on to the floor. Take the cover off the inside of the A pillar and check the hose.
