Recap: I had a symptomatic slight miss at idle, which turned into a constant miss at speed, pulled over on highway, replaced with used coil, all well. Cylinder 2 code misfire popped, and coil 2 replaced.

Once home, I pulled plugs, checked coil bolt tightness, changed plugs for Volvo ones (24k on old)all well

Drove two trips to Boston and one to NJ, total about 900 miles, no problems,

Departing on trip, constant misfire came back at idle and medium load, car runs on 5 at speed with occasional misfire. Flashing CEL light, exhaust smell, and P0302 Po352 codes set.

Bachelors level troubleshooting
Replaced coil with tested spare, did not solve problem. Took car home and took P2

Masters level Troubleshooting
Started car, smooth idle
As car warms, miss in cylinder 2 develops. As I manipulate wires, which are in medium condition, I seem to generate/ stop miss but it is not definitive. I am unconvinced it is a wiring fault in the harness. We swap coils 1 and 2 and problem does not move.

PhD troubleshooting
When you get stuck, you go full bore diagnostic

That 20 lines down thing disqualified me! So I go with a parking break issue :lol: as we all know that gives an automatic misfire :lol: :?: :mrgreen: June
