Hi there! Thanks for reading - my name is Megan and I’m located in Denver, CO.

I’m reaching out to you on behalf of a friend who could really use some help or advice. This is about Scarlett Johansson Jr, a 2012 c30 r-design and this car is his absolute favorite thing in the whole world – but she’s in trouble!

He trusted a good friend to install a custom sound system for him --- this guy is great with other cars but it seems he knew nothing about Swedish engineering, bit off way more than he could chew, made a lot of promises he had no intention of keeping, and the project became a total disaster. He took my friend’s money and quit and now both the car and their friendship are broken.

We don't know where to go or even who to talk to about getting this whole mess fixed. The car is under warranty and due for service but we’re not sure how much the dealership is even willing to cover, especially since this was a custom project. There's a bunch of weird little things unplugged/broken, interior paneling that got manhandled, plus a new alternator to handle the sound system that never got installed. We've got no tools and no experience with this type of DIY.

Any advice, names, recommendations, shops, suggestions you could give me would be so, so helpful. He doesn’t know where to turn right now and he’s broken up about the whole thing --- guy really loves this little Volvo. Thank you again for your time!

I think you need to move this up one level, directly under Miscellaneous so that it is easy to find.

Here a picture for this forum.

Even the Dealer has a decent reputation. Try the independent shops first and see if anyone is willing to take on the project. Dealers do repair stolen vehicles. Your friend got ripped off and Scarlett Johansson Jr got taken advantage of.

Hi guys it looks like your in a bit of a pickle!
Sounds like you no sweet F.A. about cars my advice go to your nearest autocrats store and ask around good people don't have to advertis.
And go to a local high school I learned many things in h.s. usually kids are up on things like that if you lived near me I would help.
Try Utube and by a basic tool kit and Haynes manual.
Good luck

Anyone near Boulder, CO, with a VIDA DICE who can set the calibrate on my steering angle sensor, before I try replacing the SAS? I have the anti-skid off message.

2007 Volvo S60 2.5T. I can drive to your location.

I'm in Lafayette and have VIDA DICE and would be happy to do that. Of course I don't have software capabilities, but I've used it on my wife's XC60 and communication with the car works well.
