Hello guys. Please help. I’m planning to do manual conversion to my 2005 V70R.
I have parts from 2004 R manual that I’m planning to transfer.
My question is: since Volvo changed some things from 04 to 05, does engine wiring will be same? I will send manual ECM and they will match it to my CEM.
If I will install engine wiring from 04, will it match the rest of my wiring?
Thanks you.

04 ECM will be 250 kBps bus speed and the 05 ECM will be 500 kBps bus speed. I don't think they can overcome that. Are they not going to "tune" the ECM in your car now? I can't recall that 04 and 05 have any differences in wiring but auto and manual have differences in transmission wiring harness. There is effectively a single wire from a reverse light switch on a manual and gear position on an auto is a 4 wire input where the grounding combinations of the 4 pins has a unique pattern for each lever position. The other item to overcome is clutch pedal position sensor needed on manual trans cars. That is not part of the engine wiring but I think the wires may be in the harness under dash on all. I have not done one of these myself.

Yikes. That sounds like quite the interface problem to overcome.04 ECM will be 250 kBps bus speed and the 05 ECM will be 500 kBps bus speed.
I can't just add another battery to double the BUS speed?

Thank you guys for replying, useful information. I still want to try to do it. Since mine 2005, should I buy 05-07 manual ecm instead of 2004 that I have? I’m sending to “Precision ECU” to match manual ECM to my CEM. As I mentioned before, I have engine wiring from manual Volvo. I have pedals, shifter and all the mechanical parts. My concern about clutch sensor and reverse switch, since they aren’t attached to engine harness. ..?

I can't see cloning two ECMs with different bus speeds ending very happily, but as Fremulon says,
