Ignition Switch Problems

My wife's 2010 XC60 T6 has developed a new issue.
The key will not smoothly go in our out of the ignition switch on the dash. It sort of vibrates going in our out and sometimes will not allow the car to start. She has to take the key out which normally does not eject on its own and put it in again. Has anyone changed this switch? Does the dealer need to reprogram it? I am afraid it may leave us stranded. We only have one key, used to have 3 but two have been lost so cannot try another.
