Post by 93Regina » Tue Nov 12, 2019 6:00 pm

Anyone tried this product?

Freeze Your Nuts Off represents the latest breakthrough in penetrating lubricant technology. By combining rapid freezing action with an advanced, rust eating formula, seized or rusted parts are easily released.

Ideal for use in the most demanding penetrating lubricant applications.

Use with caution!

1,1-Difluoroethane, or DFE, is an organofluorine compound with the chemical formula C2H4F2. This colorless gas is used as a refrigerant, where it is often listed as R-152a (refrigerant-152a) or HFC-152a (hydrofluorocarbon-152a). It is also used as a propellant for aerosol sprays and in gas duster products.

Difluoroethane is an intoxicant if inhaled, and is highly addictive.[2] Compressed gas duster products gained attention for their abuse as inhalants, as used by teenagers in the movie Thirteen. A warning email circulated by Sgt. Jeff Williams, a police officer in Cleveland, whose son, Kyle, died after inhaling Dust-Off in Painesville Township, Ohio.[3]

So this refrigerant is considered safe to be vented with some kind of lubricant?

I've used something similar from another brand and can't say I noticed much of a difference from a regular penetrating oil.

Where possible, I use heat, oxy acetylene. In essence, heat allows for expansion/contraction, which may break loose the rust. So, this product is using cold temp to break the rust.

Heating that way is also good since you've pretty much unlimited amounts of it. A small can of cold spray like that only works on very small things.
