That would definately be a lot of unmetered air comming into engine.
It's a part of PCV system...a flame trap housing.
Check if that is just poped out or it's broken.
It's a bayonet fitting...easy to install,but it can be tricky to put back on because there are two hoses attached to the flame trap housing.One larger and one vacuum hose.

Misha, Abscate, thank you for the input. It's broken right at the flame trap piece. I'll glue it together and send it out to anyone who needs a replacement. I ordered the piece from FCP and will put it in this week. Hopefully enough monitors will be ready to get this thing inspected! Fingers crossed!

Don't forget to remove negative battery cable for 15 min in order to reset fuel trims...after you replace it.

Just to remind you that canister purge valve code have nothing to do with this.
