There's plenty of DIY tire balancing on Youtube without the machine, I doubt these have any good results - perhaps if one's only driving within the city that would work.
For mounting only, the machine would be quite more affordable, but balancing is the issue. Perhaps a used machine ?

Re: Tire Machine
I was thinking static bubble balance, not commercial grade tire machine. Also, cheap HF bead breaker or equivalent, again, not commercial grade stuff.

You mean works but not enough precision to be useful?

Re: Tire Machine
Sam’s Club does take off spin balancing for something under $20 for a set of 4. I can’t remember the exact cost but after tax for 4 it’s either $12 or $16. That includes weights.

Re: Tire Machine
It does not work at all. Modern wide and heavy tire needs to be balanced at both walls. This bubble stuff simply can't do it.RickHaleParker wrote: ↑Mon Nov 18, 2019 10:33 am You mean works but not enough precision to be useful?
Lots of subpar tires like Continental made in Mexico go even further and need a run on a road-force balancer since they don't have guts/will to organize production and QA well enough.

Re: Tire Machine
COMRADES!!!
Let us not forget about the winter tire change over debacle.
I totally agree. If someone has the tool the tire machine and the computer balancer.
I have to knowledge to use, and i'm willing to pay to use it.
Its a convenience thing, and also the knowledge it was done right and done tight.
