2005 XC90 Random engine stumble P0101 P0102 [delphi MAF OBQ]

Post by mheller31 »

Hello,

I have a 2005 XC90 with 2.5 engine. I have replaced the throttle body and MAF also fuel filter and fuel pressure sensor. The car runs great except that it is still throwing codes p0101 and p0102. On occasion it stumbles and once every 30 or 40 miles it will stall. Should I be checking the head gasket or any ideas? I would appreciate any feed back. Thanks!

Did you use an OE MAF?

Check for air leaks in the various vacuum lines.

Do a glove test to see the health of your PVC system.

Thanks for the advice! I will start checking these things out. One quick question, I used a Delphi MAF. I am thinking maybe I should try an OEM? It ran great for over a year after replacing it. It is a really strange problem, because the car runs great except a random stumble. I have narrowed it down to about once every 25 miles of driving or so.

I have 160,000 miles on it. I am thinking I should get a MAF from Bosch. The Delphi one I installed was on sale...stupid decision. All the other parts I have replaced are OE. Won't do that again.

I would just like to say thanks for all the help! I would also like to say if you get codes for a MAF (P0101, P0102) get OE! I bought a Delphi and even though it was not cheap I have been battling these codes for almost a year. I kept thinking it could not be the MAF because it is new. I took it back to the store telling them it was defective and put in the OE Bosch and no more codes. Before I could only drive a couple miles before the CEL would come on. It would stumble every 20 or 30 miles, but recently got worse. I have driven almost 40 miles now with no CEL. I am hoping that it is fixed. Keep you posted!
