Hello all,
Well I have searched but I can't seem to find a diagram for the washer system. The car ( '96 850 T ) is new to me and the washers don't work. I thought " pump " but when I look I see two hoses that are not connected to anything. One is clipped to the fender and seems to go to the top of the reservoir ( vent ? ).
The other is one of two hoses that come from the filter. So it looks like I'm missing something ( elbow, valve ? ).
And how do you remove the pump ? I saw a youtube but the guy broke the mounting bracket - seems like there might be a better way ...
Thanks !

Gee - I didn't realize I had asked such a hard question. How about an easier one. Where is the check valve supposed to be located ?

Is it a wagon or sedan? I know on the P80 V70 there is a pump for the front and a second for the rear. There are few check valves. If you can let us know sedan or wagon we can go from there.

Thanks Neil - It's a sedan. I think PO removed something. When I saw the hoses with nothing connected to them I thought that maybe that's where the valve should go. But I saw another youtube where the valve is at the passengers spray nozzle. I have ordered a new pump, filter and valve so when that gets here I'll drop the reservoir and go from there. Really all I need, I think, is a picture of that front corner showing the top of pump, filter / hose set-up.
Thanks again !

My S70 is home tomorrow and I’m home the day after that, for a picture.

Thanks "abacate' - I don't know if it is the same system / lay out on the S70 as the 850. You guys would know more about that than me.
I figure it's got to be rather basic but I'm still getting my head around opening the hood and seeing the engine sitting sideways. I did the PVC system and that went well so I'm just going to keep wacking these little issues down as they come up. The car has problems from lack of use - I bought it ( garage kept ) from the original owner who is 90 years old and only put 129000 miles on it over 24 years. The last 5 years it has only been driven by caregivers to doctors appointments etc.so maintenance was forgotten about.
But she's a beauty !

It’s different, you don’t have a tailgate washer in the S70/850 sedan
TheS70 is a rebadged 850 , very similar car
That’s a great candidate for a daily driver. Fixing the non-use neglect is much easier than the other kind.
