S60 timing cover window

Post by MaineTech » Sun Nov 24, 2019 7:46 pm

Hi guys/gals. Bought step son 2008 s60 2.5t. Finished timing belt up today and noticed there was a bolt missing near crank pulley on inner timing cover and a window where you could see the new belt. I think I might have removed this bolt by accident when removing drive belt tensioner. I can't seem to figure out why window is there, cant fi d any plastic pieces laying around that would cover it. Please help, thanks

Gonna include pic, the hole is right next to crank pulley

At the front of the crank pulley you have a small plastic cover secured with two bolts - it's this one we remove when replacing the belt without removing the crank pulley. It seems to be in place. To me it looks like the fixed cover on the engine side is broken. At 4:30 you can see a corner of this cover at the right top of the image (dark grey) www.youtube.com/watch?v=2tljxoQFDe0 can also see the small front cover with two bolts
