'09 XC70 Aftermarket radio

Post by capthaak »

I think I know the answer, but is there any way to replace the stock radio in my 2009 XC70 with a way that Bluetooth music can be played? The radio currently only Bluetooths with the phone to make a call.
Since the temperature controls and parking assist are integrated, my guess is no.

Read the 2012 XC70 owner's manual.
You can play music from the phone via the Bluetooth connection. You can play Audio or Video files from USB or a burned disk.

'09 XC70: Look in your center console glove box for the optional external audio source ports (AUX,USB, iPod).
If you do not have them you might want to look into installing the option.
Sure would be better them hacking the Audio system.

If you have an AUX port (which I think you will at the age of the car) you can easily add a Bluetooth receiver. There’s loads on eBay/Amazon. It’s the easiest and cheapest way of adding music streaming. I would try and find one without hands free personally so there’s no fighting over your existing Bluetooth handsfree and the audio receiver. This one would do, power it from USB from the lighter socket and jobs done! This one does receive AND transmit. You’d want receive to pass the audio from your phone to the car Stereo
