98 vs 99 Volvo S70 non turbo vacuum lines

Post by kyeick93 » Mon Nov 25, 2019 9:58 am

Need a lifeline here ladies and gentlemen. I have a 98 S70 non-turbo. My brother in law has a 99 S70 non turbo.

Per the pictures, my 98 has a larger, short stubby vacuum line under the passenger seat that broke over time. Due to its erratic appearance, it looks clearly broken. I have no idea where it goes and terminates. I have a P0171 code indicative of a vacuum as one symptom (running lean, possible low fuel pressure). I spiced the broken line as shown eliminating a P0455 code large Evap Leak.

My brother in law's 99 non turbo appears to have that line capped off in an orderly fashion with no codes.

Need help folks -- where does the 98 hose go?

Two big differences between these years

The 1998 has the EVAP system up in the front fender, the 99 has it in the rear passenger fender

The 1999 does not have a vacuum controlled fuel pressure regulator, so a single direct fuel line to the fuel rail, I believe the 1998 has a return fuel line?
