We have a ton of mostly Korean cars driving around with no lights at all in the rear during the night. Only front DRL is stupid that way. If they were front and rear it'd mostly be their own problem to see where they're going. Since all new cars use LCD dashboards you'll have a glowing dash regardless these days. But having the lights on during the day is a good thing, a few idiots doesn't change that.abscate wrote: ↑Tue Nov 26, 2019 7:48 pmThere is a level of inattentiveness of drivers here in the US that will astound you
DRLs mean 1/3 of drivers drive at night with no rear lights on because their dash glows
Did you know? 🤔

Rattnalle, nice photos especially those night shots with the European license plate.
Thx for that screen shot of the bulbs. Maybe I will call a Volvo dealer today to verify
what a BA 15d/21/4W is.

oragex, that is the bulb I have in there now (#7506) and the running light aspect doesn't work. Just the fog light.
Just called the dealer and they gave me this Volvo P/N (#989823) for my left rear side. Hopefully this bulb will
do the trick.

Re: Left rear fog lamp/Multi-purpose or not?
Are there two smaller bulbs in the 'middle' sockets (0:47) ? These are the rear DRL bulbs (position lights) - they stay on when the key is in POS II (on cars with the DRL activated). These two bulbs burn out easily - the filament is very fragile- can break even just by slightly dropping the bulb. These are small bulbs type 67 (I think Osram is genuine for Volvo and VW)
Sorry for the huge pic - left bulb Ge, right bulb Osram (already burned)

Check my pics on the last page. One of those small 5w bulbs VB up top ("OE" in this case is probably a very loose definition) and one of the twin filament 21/4-5W bulbs down below. Which side is actually used as a fog light is software controlled afaik.oragex wrote: ↑Wed Nov 27, 2019 11:57 amAre there two smaller bulbs in the 'middle' sockets (0:47) ? I'm used the equivalent of Walmart no brand bulbs for those and life span is pretty random. I'll have a few go almost at once and then nothing for a year and ten thousand miles or so. I always keep a full set of spares in the glove box and replace them immediately so I don't really keep track or care at barely a dollar or so each.

Re: Left rear fog lamp/Multi-purpose or not?
I'm thinking, the bulbs or at least the sockets on the S60 are going to have a different configuration than on the V70 - since the OP has a V70, it's better to use the Rattnalle diagram on the previous page.

Re: Left rear fog lamp/Multi-purpose or not?
Perhaps the bulbs quality has lowered. One thing that always burns on these P2 are the two rear plate lights - their sockets get corroded (on the same wire loom as the trunk switch button)
