2001 XC crank no start [ Steep angle parking, low fuel, Fuel Starvation] Topic is solved

2001 v70xc started care ran for 5 seconds and died, hasn’t started since. Ive replaced crankcase sensor . Removed top plastic and found a lot of oil on top of the block it saturated plugs thinking this is the oil cap and it fouled the plugs. Pulled plugs and replaced. Still won’t start. Sprayed starter fluid in air intake engine started and ran for 3-4 seconds. Sounded good. Rented fuel pressure gauge got no/zero pressure at shader valve on fuel rail. There is a dribble of gas present. I can hear the pump turn on with ignition on. Is this a pem problem? I had no symptoms until failure. Cant imagine it’s the fuel filter but maybe. Please help if you can

2001 has no PEM. Have you added fuel to tank in the event fuel gauge is wrong and it is out of fuel while showing fuel on gauge? If the car is parked down hill with left lower than right and fuel level is below 1/4 there is a little swinging trap door that can fail to close and the fuel will run out of the fuel pump cup and there will be no fuel delivered until 2 or more gallons are added. I am basing this post on the fuel pump runs but there is no fuel at fuel test port.

Thanks for that insight. I had close to a half tank but the car was parked on a steep angle with the drivers front side being the lowest. I put in two gallons of fresh gas and after sitting for over a month she started right up thanks for this tip who would of thought! Kind of a bad design wonder why volvo did that
