I have been given a 94,850,2.0,20valve Volvo for really nothing and it is not in bad nick considering its 185000 miles,my old 940 is getting a little long in the tooth and this would be a great upgrade for me .
The only problem is it wont start,i have had the plugs out and a good spark is there ,i have also had the fuel rack out and it appears to be getting plenty of fuel, but start it will not .
The car was running and peetered out after a journey of 15 miles or so never to start again...
It points to no compression but it wont even attempt to fire up {im getting a compression tester asap},i just wondered if anybody knew of any silly things it could be ,there are no faults on the ecu readout either but i heard that if the maf sensor went down it wont register a fault anyway !!!.
Hope somebody can shed some light ,thanks in advance for any info
Ps would it not try to fire if fuel delivery pressure was low ? and ive just been told that the crankcase breather system was very recently cleaned out and replaced with new inlet gasket .Thanks again
I have just done a compression test
No1 was160psi
No2 was140psi

No5 was160psi
This was done on a stone cold motor, hope springs eternal
