Just a quick update for everyone as I don’t want this forum to die out. I yanked the motor out Saturday. Everything went pretty smooth minus one of the axels being a pain to come out (they are pretty new and had some stiff clips). I also had the dipstick tube pop out when lifting the engine out, and ended up puncturing the radiator with it. I’m hoping the one in the parts car works and doesn’t leak. Having the engine out will be good and give me some time to clean up the engine bay as well. More updates to come as well as what works and what didn’t. I’m hoping this Frankenstein of a swap will run well and make good power as well as serve for as a guide for others trying to make more power with they’re brick.

It’s been a little so I figured I would update you all. The engine is now out of both cars. Getting ready to put it back into my car. While the engine is out I put cam seals in, new timing belt and water pump, all vacuum lines, new coolant hoses, and my ARD wastegate set to a 1.8 PSI base setup. I also have many parts off the parts car I needed/want. Can’t wait to update you when the motors in the car and running and driving for the first time in months. I’m planning on using the harness out of the 95 to use is my 97 for simplicity reasons, should there be a problem with that? Thanks

I'm not sure on the wiring harness, though I know you need to think about speed sensor connections.
Great time to replace the rear main seal and the transmission shaft input seal. These are Volvo only items.

Did the '95 have the OBDII port in the car, or were the diagnostics under the hood?

FWIW most '95 turbos were both OBDII and the diagnostics box. But definitely key know ab out the actual donor car.
