I love my DC automotive air compressor. I bought it two years ago and it's still working great.

The exact brand/model isn't available any longer but I'm 99% certain these all use the same components, just in different enclosure shells.

https://amzn.to/3to0OlS <-- see them

I like this new generation of digital compressors because it makes getting to your PSI simple. You just set it and turn it on. When the PSI gets to your number, it turns off. I love dedicated, simple devices.

It remembers the PSI number I set, so no setting it each time.

Here's what I have:

I've been reading science fiction for 40 years, and this is one of the better books in all I've read: The Book of Strange New Things.

It's available as paperback, Kindle, and audiobook. I just finished it and thought someone here who shares my love of SF might like it.

It begins with Peter, a devoted man of faith, as he is called to the mission of a lifetime, one that takes him galaxies away from his wife, Bea. Peter becomes immersed in the mysteries of an astonishing new environment, overseen by an enigmatic corporation known only as USIC. His work introduces him to a seemingly friendly native population struggling with a dangerous illness and hungry for Peter’s teachings—his Bible is their “book of strange new things.” But Peter is rattled when Bea’s letters from home become increasingly desperate: typhoons and earthquakes are devastating whole countries, and governments are crumbling. Bea’s faith, once the guiding light of their lives, begins to falter.

Suddenly, a separation measured by an otherworldly distance, and defined both by one newly discovered world and another in a state of collapse, is threatened by an ever-widening gulf that is much less quantifiable. While Peter is reconciling the needs of his congregation with the desires of his strange employer, Bea is struggling for survival. Their trials lay bare a profound meditation on faith, love tested beyond endurance, and our responsibility to those closest to us.

Marked by the same bravura storytelling and precise language that made The Crimson Petal and the White such an international success, The Book of Strange New Things is extraordinary, mesmerizing, and replete with emotional complexity and genuine pathos.

Buy this jack from Amazon and it helps MVS. I bought this about two years ago and it’s a fantastic floor jack. It’s very well made and inspires confidence. Way, way better than the crappy Pep Boys jack I owned for years.

The cups in this system are actually espresso servings, so the 6 cup = 10 ounces. I make one or two of those per day. No, I don't make it strong like espresso! If I did I'd be posting here about 300 times per day.

Image

It's really easy to vary the strength of your coffee, and I make mine about as strong as coffeehouse drip coffee.

I have the 6-cup model, and also the next smaller. I use the 6-cup (which isn't 6 imperial cups!) every day, for about 2 years. Before that I used the smaller model for 2 years.

Bialetti Moka Express 6 Cup <-- I have this 6-cup Bialetti

Amazon sells induction-style Bialettis if that's your jam.

I love the ritual of it. I wake up and do the coffee thing: grind beans, pour the water, put it on the stove. Doesn't hurt that it's designed by an Italian and thus is easy on the eyes. :D

It's a modular system, so all parts are replaceable as you would expect of something first sold in 1933, even the riveted parts like the handle / lid... if you're willing to go beyond simply ordering a part and snapping it in.

My handle and lid aren't anywhere near broken and I can't really see them ever needing repairs. I have replaced the gasket and the metal filter.

Have I mentioned I love DIY and keeping things working instead of throwing them away?
