'04 XC70 - Trailer Hitch

Looking to pick up a trailer hitch for a 2004 XC70. Anybody know if one that fits a regular V70 will also fit an XC70?

Of course I meant compatibility across P2 wagons, not between/among P80 and P2.

Make sure you get the range of years right. The mounting points on our 04 V70 AWD & 04 XC70 are the same, not surprisingly. They were also the same on our 06 XC70. I know some of the manufacturers say their hitches fit some P2 wagons but not others so watch for that. I’m not sure if that’s because of variance in bumper cover or what, but the 4 bolts & their holes for mounting the towbar are the same.

I’d just pull up the manufacturers site & verify fitment before you pick one up second hand.

I have a 01 v70xc with a curt hitch and instructions said 01-07 I also have a 02 v70xc with the factory hitch that I am parting out but it takes a round hitch into the receiver which I have on me if interested

Instead of being a square receiver (2" or 1.25") you're saying the Volvo one is round like a piece of pipe? News to me.

I wonder what the benefit is? Is the ball on this hitch swappable?

No, the ball is not swappable. It is a Volvo only hitch. I used to have one. I forget the name of the manufacturer, but it is lockable and shaped like the letter "J" (I guess really more of an "L"). It also weighs a ton.

Yes it weighs a lot and locks I like the curt hitch better but the Volvo one is less visible you pay shipping and it's yours

Brink is the manufacturer's name for the OEM Volvo hitch.
