Left turn signal works intermittently
I have a 2005 xc90 and my son a 2008 s60. Both have this bizarre issue when using the left turn signal. Sometimes it works as it should, other times (which is most of the time) it will signal very quickly, then slowly, then not at all. Then the cycle starts over again. I'm curious if anyone else has experienced a similar issue?

2003 S80 T6. Same thing but mine stops very quickly however. 2 Fast clicks and 1 slow then stop. If I push the lever firmly it's usually fine. Probably sticky contacts in the signal lever.
Left turn only right is fine.

May try to replace it with a used one. Not sure which years are compatible, I'd try to keep 2001-2003 and 2004-2009 separate.

Interesting. I was thinking the switch, but with systems in these cars becoming more and more integrated, I was hesitant to throw money at it only to be unrelated to the switch.
I am going to try and source a used one and try it out.

Try this before buying a used one. Worked perfectly for me and I've had no recurring problem. Good luck.

My issue was similar, the left side would flash but always fast. I swapped rear turn bulbs right to left, same issue. Went to swap the front bulbs (PITA!) and snapped off the right side holder! The left side came off but the contacts looked pretty corroded. I ordered two new holders from FCP (I got the "economy" version, not sure I can recommend these... required more tweaking than should be needed,) and once set up OK that solved my problem.
I think the fast blink issue is caused by corrosion that fouls the leads for the flasher/running light (bulb has two filiments one for each function, flasher is brighter) and or ground.
All that is to say, working on the switch might be easier!
