This cable was recommended to me... works fine on my ‘98.

Did you check this site for the software?

Thanks, too bad its sold out, I assume anything that lists the FTDI chip should be good?

I'm pretty sure almost all of them are the same as long as the listing says it's an actual ftdi chip. I've gone through a few of them over the years and all of them came from different places.

If you want to skip all that why don't you just send it to me, I'll scan-test and go through it. If there's an external problem I'll see it. I do a lot of that these days since the cars are up there in age and strange things come up.

Ok, I have a cable ordered through ebay, it should be coming in a month or so. I can scan it and post the results.
If I were to send you the module, can the car be driven? It’s probably best I send it after winter when it’s not really needed. Thanks!

I got frustrated and gave up on VOL-FCR. I found an iCarsoft i906 for about $70 used on ebay and it works perfectly. Reads and resets ABS, SRS, transmission, and Volvo specific engine codes. Reads live data, too.

You can drive without it.
