Hello,
I am looking at buying a 2005 S60 2.5T AWD that has 125K kilometers on it. Any major/minor issues that I should be aware of to look for or take care of?
Thanks,
Scott

Re: 2005 S60 2.5T AWD
See my signature. Test the automatic transmission fully warmed up. Google up about angle gear - may still be working but not for long, PCV, control arms, front brake flexibles hoses, CEM water ingress, PEM, timing belt has to be done (don't replace the water pump), suspension may feel harsh (may need shock absorbers). Use only Sachs, Lemforder, Continental (belt) from sites like Rockauto.com (cheap shipping) or Eeuroparts (ask for upfront import fees shipping option). You may also have a nearby european parts store selling these.

Re: 2005 S60 2.5T AWD
We bought a 2005 S60 2.5T awd a little over two years ago. It had 96,000 miles, one owner and CarFax records 100% completed at a Volvo dealership and no accidents.. The "used" car lot already put on new brake pads and rotors, and I had them install a new timing belt kit.
The car drove fine around the area of the car lot, so we bought the car.
On the way home we stopped somewhere for something and I locked the car. Upon getting back in, it triggered the Alarm warning message.
When I started driving away, the ABS light came on.
At 60 mph on the main highway, the car now had a terrible shake.
This car was driven daily by the salesman who sold it to us, yet he never disclosed any of this.
So......I needed the Alarm module for about $300 that goes inside one of the front fenders.
The ABS repair ended up being the complete ABS assy, with the pump from Xemodex.
One of the Pirelli tires had a rub ring on the outside that caused the inside of the tire to shread. A new tire fixed that.
But the car still had a shake to it.
I took the other rear wheel off and had the tire shop try to balance it. After they could not balance it, they took the tire off and found about a quart or less of liquid calcium in it.
But, sitting outside our house...two years later is a nice car that works perfect. Good luck buying a perfect 15 year old car.
