Hood Latch Broken..

Post by Cupojoe710 »

Good mothaf***in evening everybody! I have a bit of a problem. My girlfriend got in a little fender bender the other day. When she got home I went to pop the hood to inspect for damages, and the hood release cable snapped like a toothpick right off the handle. I can't get to the cable to pull it, but upon removal of the grille I can see not one but both of the hood lock mechanisms. I only see 3 bolts holding them on, could I remove the bolts to remove the whole mechanism? It's a beater so I'm gonna throw some hood pins on so I'm prepared to cut some sh*t off lmao

This link should give some advice. I believe the hood latch will be the same or similar.

Removing the two bolts on each lock won't help (will actually get worse)
