Im preparing my 2007 3.2L XC90 to tow a 1500-2000lb camper cross-country. I gave it the first and presumably only trans fluid flush at about 100k, now I'm at 125k.
There has been a rough 2-3rd gear shift since I got the vehicle and it seems to get worse with heat and hills. The flush seemed to smooth this out somewhat.
Anyone have good/bad experience with the "Lucas Transmission Fix", "Royal Purple", "Daryl's Supreme Liquid Transmission Mechanic" type additives for this type of Asin-Warner?
You think there's much sense in giving this "lifetime" fluid another flush before towing?
What's up with taking the car to a dealership to reprogram the shift patterns? Is this something I can do myself with my Chinese knockoff VIDA/DICE?
2007 6-speed Transmission snake oil additive suggestions?

Which transmission fluid type and brand did you use and what method?
Don't reset the adaptive shift pattern.

How much fluid did you supply?
but anyway,
I'd replace the fluid again before I tried an additive. Here's a couple of links:
This is more complete:

But this is the method I'd use; 2 or 3 fills and drains.

I think I supplied 14QT? It was all based on the above article/video/forum posts I've read. I think I'll do the drain+fill with another 12QT and throw in a little snake oil for good measure. Still soliciting suggestions for which brand!

I'd go with lucas then, their other products seem to work well from what I've used.
