Swedish Aftermarket Coolant Tank Level Sensor

Got this guy, kinda by accident when I was ordering Honda parts. It's made by WVE in Sweden. It has a 3-year warranty, which is better than the Volvo one from IPD. Hoping it lasts 23 years or so like the OEM. Will attempt to install this weekend.

Wells Vehicle Electronics is a U.S. Company out of Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. They have been around a long time. WVE made the ignition coils for the Ford Model T. WVE is now owned by NGK Spark Plug Co. Ltd. of Japan ... a brand most of us trust.

This is for the Volvo 960. I guess I wasn't clear. I was ordering parts for the Honda, and thought I would price and compare some parts for the Volvo. I thought I would save a bit on shipping by combining orders, and I would go back and remove it if I could get a good deal elsewhere, or if I chickened out and wanted to go Volvo parts only on this thing. Then I figured I would just go ahead and throw it in the the cart and remove it if I changed my mind. I also figured if the part turned out to not be a good one I could always remove it. In the end, I just submitted my order. That's what I meant by it "kinda by accident."

Then, in the end, it turns out that IPD has the Volvo part on clearance right now. I could have gotten the part a little cheaper there but shipping would have been $8.42 for the cheapest & slowest.

This is to replace OE part 3547710 for Volvo, not a Honda part. Sorry about that.

Argh. Clearly it needed to be replaced, but in the end, it did not make my light go out. There was lots of corrosion in the plug itself which made it hard to get out. The cylinder of the old sensor came apart in the tank shaft, and I didn't realize it didn't come out at first. Had to fish it out it with an allen wrench. The old socket was stuck on the old plug, so even after I pried it apart, still had to use needle nose to get the thing apart.

After I found and got the old sensor out of the tank, the new one went in well and plugged in. However....in the end, I still have a light on.

The magnet seemed to be rattling around in there, so I assumed it was still doing its job, but I'm guessing the next step is a new tank.

New tank from FCP Euro arrived along with end links (see other thread). This should be a quick replacement, and hopefully the light will (finally!) go out.

Might not be possible, but if sensor has not been inserted into tank, what is ohm spec of it, and then after inserted into a wet tank?
