What's your worst parts order snafu?

Post by wizechatmgr »

A friend of mine owns a body shop. He ordered a driver's side headlight assembly, received a rim instead.

I once ordered a hard drive and was sent a hard drive mounting kit instead. The vendor let me keep it and sent the drive. Great customer service there...

What's your worst parts order snafu or horror story?
Wisdom requires knowledge as a prerequisite, but knowledge can be developed due to a lack of wisdom.
In order to learn how to fix something, you must first learn how to break it.

1) Friend ordered a Westin stainless steel "Bull Bar" for his Nissan Frontier.
I drove the 85 miles to his house -EARLY- to install it and it was incorrect.
Westin didn't have one listed for the 2008 Frontier; only the Pathfinder.
Had to wait until noon Eastern to call California.
The parts shop ordered him one of heavier gauge metal for no additional money.

2) Set up a "Transmission Pan & Filter Drop Day" with my friend and his son.
I planned a Ford maintenance orgy.
Numbpty ordered a filter WITHOUT the DARN GASKET!
