Hello.
I'm trying to remove the plastic housing at the end of the steering rack to replace a leaking seal. I'm having real trouble releasing it. There is a locking pin that needs to be played while you turn the plastic housing anti clockwise. Turning it will move the pin, until it hits the edge. I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do with this pin really.
Here are the links I've been using as reference

Point 18 in the PDF explains what I need to do. It says: "The pin will come out slowly, keep it aside. Remove the cover." What does keep it aside mean?
The picture shows the housing slightly turned and you can see the locking pin in the reflection.

Turn it until the pin is fully out. The cover won't be able to be removed until the pin is fully removed from the housing.
"Keep it aside" means to just save it, as you may need it for re-installation, if the new seal kit doesn't come with a new one. Kind of bad wording, really.

Re: Replacing passenger side seal on steering rack
Thank you. That seems to be what needs to happen. I saw this video that shows the process and I'm guessing it's exactly the same here.
If only the pin removal was as easy as it seems in the video, but I guess a small screwdriver will help leverage the pin out.
