Multiple ECM Codes - 2A20, 2A2A, 2810 and 2A1A

Help, Advice, Owners' Discussion and DIY Tutorials on Volvo XC90s. The XC90 proved to be very popular, and very good for Volvo's sales numbers, since its introduction in model year 2003 (North America).

Multiple ECM Codes - 2A20, 2A2A, 2810 and 2A1A

Post by keithhitch » Mon Feb 10, 2020 4:57 am

Hello all,

I have a 2004 XC90 2.5T and I love it. I recently had some issues and now I need some serious help. I had to replace the Fuel pump and Crank Position Sensor. Got the parts from FCPEURO. I then had codes that told me that both O2 sensors were bad. I got the Bosch sensors from FCPEURO again and was able to finally install them (had to fight the sensors to remove after multiple days of using PBBlaster on them). Once I got the sensors installed I get the 4 ECM codes listed in subject. I have run the car multiple days to see if the codes will clear and they do not. I did try to clear the codes with scanner and they keep showing up. I did not disconnect the battery prior to replacing the sensors. Is this an issue?

Any idea what this might be? I read somewhere that this might be a MAF issue. Any help is appreciated.

Thank you,

Keith in PA.

I checked the fuse at number 11 and it is fine. I also cleaned the MAF with MAF cleaner. Any other ideas?

Check again, 11B is the top side of the fuse box in the engine compartment. /4 is fuse number 4 of 11B.

I rechecked both the 11B and the 4 fuse and both are the correct amperage and I still get the codes. When I start the car rear amperage is 0.45 and front is 1v. These do not change for a while until I get moving down the highway. They vary some but stay real close to the initial amperage. Is there any chance this might be a result of dirty contacts? I really am running out of ideas. What are the odds of receiving 2 bad O2 sensors from FCPEuro?
