Hi guys

My 850Rs passenger seat recliner is stuck fully forward. I removed the seat before it stopped working to clean coolant out. But when I put the seat back in and plugged it in the recline wont work. Up/down and froward/back work. The motor clicks when I press the switch and turns about 4mm each way. It sounds like it jams and stops. I un bolted the cable from the motor and the cable moves fine. The motor spins by itself aswell.
Is there any advice to get it going again.

Cheers Alex

The plastic jacket on the cables expands and lengthen over time but the metal drive cable in the center does not. Eventually the metal drive cable is pulled out of the motor or the gear box.

One solution is to remove the metal cap on the end, shorten the plastic jacket ~5 mm, reinstall the metal cap. Else: you can get the length of trim by measuring the slack of the metal drive cable before you take the metal cap off.

You can remove the metal cap by slowly heating it with a heat gun or a hair blow dryer. Heat until the plastic is just beginning to soften. Then pull off the metal cap.

Hi Rick Hale.

I have done that and re installed the cable with about 3/4 of an inch showing. It's still having the same problem though. It's like the cable gets stuck and jams the Motor but the motor and cable move freely by themselves

Cheers
