Replacing knuckle - abs and wheel hub questions

A while ago I drilled out a caliper bolt to replace my calipers, but I accidentally drilled into my knuckle in the bolt channel. I'll soon be replacing my struts so I figured it was a good time to swap the knuckle with a used part I got from a salvage. The wheel bearing on the used knuckle is a little noisey but pretty smooth, so I'm not sure if I should swap the old bearing onto the new knuckle, or if at 210k miles I should swap both the front wheel hubs. Does anyone have any insight on the average lifetime of a wheel hub, and if the FAG hubs from FCP are fine, or if it's better to go with Volvo here?

The other question I had was about the abs sensor, as the knuckle also came with the wire/sensor. Is it better/easy to keep my current abs wire on, or should I keep the wire that's attached to the knuckle. I believe this came off a 2000/01 C70.

FAG are fine. I’ve had three go from 110-180k miles

As for the ABS wire, it comes down to if you can remove it from the hub. If the hubs become really crusty in your area with rust, it might make sense to swap it all over including the wire.

Personally I would just go ahead and replace the hubs and bearings while they're off. I had to do mine at 200k and 220k respectively. Make sure you have the correct Volvo bolts for the hubs. Hex head bolt will rub on the axles ask me how I know hahahahaha

Thanks for all the tips. I jacked the car up to test the play in the wheel at 3+9 & 12+6 and found no play in the 12+6 direction, so i think they may be fine.. still an item that I will have on my list to replace.

What's bothering me more right now is that I had some decent play at 3+9 on both sides, maybe 1/2 inch(?) with a solid feeling clunk at the 'end' of each direction of play. I just replaced the inner and out tie rods recently.. does this mean a bad steering rack? Diagnostics I'm reading on steering racks only use driving indicators like vagueness, dead spots, sticky steering etc. its a little harder to steer than other cars in a parking lot, but not too bad.

That does sound like rack, but control arms and ball joints last 100k In urban areas

It is a bit of a drag but there are much worse things.

Marblehead is the preferred drop zone, after removing the wheels and leaving it on cement blocks
