Well the Chinese have started first human trials of a vaccine. 105 (?) healthy people of different ages with 3 levels of strength of the vaccine. They still then say that the time to market is 6 months from proof of trial.

From a DNA perspective the concept of country-based race is pretty obsolete - have you seen the very uplifting video on the DNA journey.

We be all Mongrels.

Yes, migration brought about changes, but inhabitants remaining within a region for a period of time may/will have common characteristics specific to them.

Who and What Is at Risk?

Although a keloid scar can form on anyone, some ethnic groups are at a greater risk of developing them. People with darker skin, such as African Americans, Asians, and Hispanics are more susceptible1. Keloid scars are seen 15 times more frequently in highly-pigmented ethnic groups than in Caucasians.

Full "blooded" Italians sure don't look Japanese...last time I looked. And one prescription drug may work well for some, and others not so well.

Since Italians are being hit hard, is there something in their genetics which affects them more. Speculation, btw.
35% of Italy's population is 55 or over. 1 out of 5 is 65 or over.

In the news today: Risk of Getting COVID-19 Could Be Linked to Certain Blood Types,
Coronavirus Study Suggests
...
...
Taking the data as a whole, the researchers concluded that "blood
group A had a significantly higher risk for COVID-19" when compared
with non-A blood groups. Those in the O group, meanwhile, "had a
significantly lower risk for the infectious disease."
...
...
However they stressed that the study was limited, and "one should be
cautious to use this study to guide clinical practice at this time.
This study encourages further studies."

Hence, blood type may influence outcome...a big may currently.

Young adults under age 44 make up a big part of coronavirus hospitalizations in the US
...
...
The CDC analyzed the cases of about 2,500 patients in the United States whose ages were known. Of the 508 patients known to have been hospitalized, 20% were notably younger — between ages 20 and 44, while 18% were between ages 45 and 54, the report says. The highest percentage of hospitalized patients was at 26% between ages 65 and 84.

And of the 121 patients known to have been admitted to an ICU, 36% were adults ages 45 to 64, while 12% were ages 20 to 44. There were no ICU admissions reported for those under age 19, the report says.
