Both are nonsense. The dealer is taking you for a ride or it is gross incompetence.

Volvo batteries are good quality but they are lead acid batteries just like any other brand.

Bubbles in the cooling system will not cause the sensor to read low unless it cause the level in the reservoir to go low.

BUT, he's made her a happy customer with getting the warning message taken care of
