2000 V70XC has a rough 3 to 4 upshift for Aisin 50-42LE

Hello,

My 2000 V70XC has been experiencing a rough 3rd to 4th upshift. Specifically, if I am going uphill and it needs to drop into 3rd gear, it will do it just fine. Once I crest the hill and it shifts into 4th, especially if I also let foot off the gas a bit, I often get a fairly long (about a full second) shudder, then thud.

Have any of you experienced this symptom? Any suggestions on what to do?

That transmission (I have it) does sometimes have a rough shift or two during normal operation. I've experienced the same thing occasionally on my original trans (lasted 280K before swapped due to large leak) and my current one (used w/~150K).

I would just do a couple drain & fills with good transmission fluid and not worry too much unless it it much more pronounced.
