Anybody know where Yamaha stamped the serial numbers on the B8444S?

There's a sticker on the timing cover, but I'm not sure if/where there is a stamp.

Pressure washed the timing cover and there it is. It is a water proof sticker right above the center most idler. I got serial number 26869. Which is 20036 counts past serial number 6833. I need not worry about the Balance Shaft Bearing issue that plagued the early B8444S.

Got the engine bay cleaned and painted. I have new sound deadening installation. Waiting for the roller tools to come in so I can install the new insulation.

Went parts picking today at LKQ. Pick up the Power steering return line for $9.00, $380 at FCP. Pair of Sachs 544046 struts for $54.00, $320 at FCP. Struts are not new but they look like they are low miles.

Almost ready to start putting it back together.
1. Install new Firewall heat shield.
2. Source transmission hydraulic lines.
3. Reassemble subframe assembly.
4. Install subframe assembly in engine bay.

Nice! I found a pair of like-new Sachs P80 struts one time too, ended up on my old S70. I love finding low mileage parts at the junkyard.

Two S80s just can in. I was checking for 4C when I found the Sachs. A guy can dream and pursue the dream. Sometimes one does not come up empty handed.

Does somebody with a 2006 - 2007 S60R / V70R with a six speed TF80 transmission know how many spines the front wheel hubs have and the diameter? I'm trying to work out a new front suspension and drive axles that will work with the TF80 swap.

Finding the 2006 - 2007 S60R / V70R front suspension parts is problematic. If I can gather all the numbers I might be able to modify XC90 axles to work.

Found a vendor with a left axle out of a 2007 V70R with a TF80. They counted the spines and measured the diameter, 36 spines and 27.5mm dia. that is the stock specs for a 2004. I bought it.

Like it happens so often after I anted up the money. Another idea pops in my head. Tomorrow I'm going to take the off ends of the XC90 left axle and the old S60R left axle at the inter CV joint and see if they can be swapped. Hopefully that is where Volvo make the axle adjustments for wheel track.
