99 S70 A/C fill up after repair

Post by Christgen » Tue Apr 07, 2020 9:31 pm

I wanted to know what the process of bleeding the air from the A/C system entailed. I replaced the schrader valve at the low pressure side since I discovered it was leaking, and now I need to refill the system, but from what I understand I can't simply refill the system without first ridding it of the air, and I was told that there is no high pressure port on the 99 S70? So any information on how to complete this task would be greatly appreciated.

You need a vacuum pump to pull on the low pressure side of the system for a few hours.

The cost of a simple one from Harbor freight or NorthernTools is about $200 for all the tools needed.

An AC shop will charge about half that for a simple evacuate and charge. I run six cars so I bought the kit and have probably done two dozen cars with it between friends, family , neighbors
