P2 Handsfree Bluetooth Operation

I recently purchased a 2009 S60 with the handsfree Bluetooth phone equipment installed. There weren’t any manuals provided. The keypad doesn’t respond in in way, however it also never appears to turn off (lights are always on). It doesn’t seem to affect anything else adversely, but I do worry about battery drain, and would like to make use of it someday. I’ve searched the net for operating instructions, but so far no luck. If anyone has any guidance, I’d appreciate it.
