99 v70 glt exhaust

Post by donutV70 » Sat Apr 11, 2020 5:10 pm

So I'm looking for some recommendations. I'm looking to upgrade to 2.5-3" exhaust and I'm curious what people have done. I'm a little bit skeptical about IPD as I had fitment issues with their cold air intake. havent written them off but just want something that'll flit nice

I'd always recommend custom to ensure perfect fit. But if you're looking for off the shelf then Ferrita is an excellent brand and known to fit very well (they are a Swedish tuning brand, often recommended by builders here in the UK and SE).

Ferrita actually costs more than custom stainless, here in the UK. £340-440 for Ferrita over here depending on catback/turboback, and diameter. A custom stainless setup is generally £280-350.

Edited to correct typos in price!

Not sure if Eurosport are still offering a muffler system for P80 models. Biggest issue is material they are made from. Look for T304 Stainless and not T407. That is just as bad as mild steel for rust issues. As I have the dual tailpipe system I will look to a local custom muffler shop to build me one when I am in the position to get it done.

You could also look at Vivaperformance.

They carry Ferrita in T304. Not cheap especially with shipping and duties! I know I could have a custom system built for less than the $1000 US for the dual system they offer.

I have a Ferrita catback on the way for my LPT, but it's definitely cheaper in Europe (paid about 460$ for the single exhaust turbo catback)

I’ve had my eye on this for my ‘98 S70 GLT... yet to pull the trigger though.

That Mototec is a rebranded Simons (they are sold under many other brands, like Jetex), if that can help you taking a decision

Jetex are known in the UK for having some serious fit issues. Excellent quality and sound, though.

That unit at Eurosport is at least made of T304 stainless so should last well. The Simons one though does not say what it is made from

The foolproof way is to remove the heat shield and look at the flange. Since it’s a ‘99 my guess is it’s an angle.
