Volvo 850 electric seat recline

Hey
Having trouble with the passenger electric seat, it wont recline. it works 1 way. and thats down, and since ppl love to fiddle with buttons its tilting very far back now.

When i press the button to recline upwards its trying 1 second but nothing happends. no movement,

Trying to read what the issue can be, most is looking like the cable but also looking like its just a calibration ?

Cable outer sleeve has stretched. Need to remove the back seat cover and either heat and shorten the outer sleeve or remove part of it. The seat will still recline but will not come back up.

Thanks was hoping there could be a easier fix!

Btw was cleaning the car, and the driver seat was working perfect. moved it forward and backwards to clean under it.
But then later when i was gonna drive it i cant move the seat forward. Only by pressing the Memory button 1,weird.

Check the wiring under the seat. You may have pulled a few by accident while cleaning. They do tend to just hang under there to allow the wires to move when sliding back and forward.

The other thing is the buttons can get dirt in them or if someone spills a drink on them they go sticky. You may have to remove the pod, but disconnect the battery and wait 30 mins before removing it as the early cars have a airbag system that can be set off by accident. Behind the side pod there should be a red clip that pushes into the actuator near the front left of the seat to prevent accidental discharge.

If I recall to remove the side pod, raise the seat to the highest before removing the battery as I think one of the screws fits from the underside. It should then slide forward to release a hook holding it in place.
