URO pcv hose split after 3 years

Post by darrylrobert »

Had the dreaded oil leak on driveway. After checking the usual suspects drain bolt, filter also tightened the oil pressure switch but the leak continued.

As a last resort i started checking unlikely things like the Uro pcv kit that i installed about 3 years ago. I pulled off the small elbow pipe from the box to engine and found it was split underneth the clamp. I read some negative reviews about URO hoses being soft but the pcv is only oil vapour and its just a plastic box and some hoses, what could go wrong, right?

Lucky for me i still have the old oem hose, after a clean it still in good condition

Well, you let oil get on -that rubber part.

I think 3 years might be a record for a URO PCV , well done there.

Same, I'm surprised it lasted this long, several people did warn about URO, ProParts Sweden and or Scantech (Scamtech). Pretty much everything Uro is not worth (I have a URO brake booster seal, hope it lasts a while)
