Need a wiring diagram

Post by Ahdoman »

Hey all,
New 2008 XC90 owner here. Both the low beam and high beam on the driver side headlight aren’t working. Checked fuses and all is good. I need to know what’s next in line. Also the high beam switch won’t stay in the locked position. High beam activates on the passenger side but only flashes and won’t lock. Hoping it’s not a bad switch in the steering column.

" Hoping it’s not a bad switch in the steering column."

Funny; I'd be hoping that's what it was. Easiest repair ever.

We that would be nice if it's that easy. I will say, I was impressed with how easily the entire headlight housing comes out.

Can anybody point me to a service manual?

High beam will activate and stay activated only if the headlight switch is in the ON position, otherwise it'll just do a flash when stalk is pulled back. Owners manuals noted here- https://volvo.custhelp.com/app/homeV3 in the event it's helpful.

For a workshop manual, do an internet search for "Volvo VIDA image" and something will pop up. Takes a bit of work to get loaded onto a PC but it's well worth the effort.

For an electrical wiring diagram (EWD), these are harder to find but you can try an internet search for "volvo xc90 wiring diagram" and see what comes up.

You got to be kidding. eManuals online is a scam .. complete ripoff. Not the kind of recommendation worthy at MVS.

eManuals online files are nothing more then massive unorganized files dumps. Not even close to what they advertise them as. I one and only one I got was 30,000 pages tossed together in no particular order without any index. Completely useless junk.

I got what was suppose to be the OEM repair and service manual for a 2004 S60.

Cheap is not cost effective. Cheap is quite expensive when it is useless.

If cheap is what you want, I got lots of things I could sell you cheap. They may not work or be useful but they sure are cheap and that is all that counts ... you concur?
