Strange brake issues

Post by Yaworski » Wed May 13, 2020 2:38 pm

It all started off with me thinking that my transmission was being wonky but I found out that wasn't the case. The right front brake was grabbing and not releasing.

I took it to my mechanic and he said that the right front rotor showed signs of overheating. So he replaced the rotors and the flexible brake lines.

Then he tried doing a brake flush and no fluid was coming out of the left front caliper. So he disconnected the line at the ABS and had fluid coming out of the right side's port but not the left. He replaced the ABS unit.

So far he's replaced
  • Flexible brake lines
    Rotors
    Both front calipers
    Left rear caliper
    Master cylinder
    ABS box
Sounds like all problems should have gone away, right? Nope.

The car still pulls strongly to the right.

Any thoughts?

Do you mean it pulls without braking ? More when braking ? Did he verify fluid comes out with the new parts ?

As far as I know, he verified the fluid flow at each step of the game.

How are the bushings on the control arms ? Can check the small one with vertical bolt by lifting the wheel. Also possible to have a bad subframe bushing if the car has many miles (over 200K or so)

What happens when you lift all four wheels off the ground and spin each wheel?

I had a control arm that did that. Brand was ScanTech if I remember right. Bushing was so soft that the wheel turned outwards when brakes were applied.

ScamTech is now called ProParts Sweden (or Professional Parts Sweden) and it's being sold on every web store, including Fcpeuro The company CEO must have good imagination how to choose company names. When he will change the name again to make customers forget about how bad it is, he will surely call it Best Parts Ever or something

Im a bit surprised to hear that FCP sells them. My belief was that they sold quality parts?
