Driver front turn signal is blinking fast when signaling

Post by AndyTexas »

Hi everyone I need some help, I have a 1998 Volvo V70. When I turn left and push the turn signal down to turn left the light blinks rapidly fast and very quickly. I do not know what is causing this. Please does anyone know or have any advice on what I need to do. I read somewhere that it was the socket for the turn signal. I do not know and would really be very helpful for me.

More than likely, your rear left turn signal is out.
If that’s the case, replace the lamp.

Ditto to that, I haven't had that on my Volvo but it happened on a 2010 ford I owned and it was the turn signal bulb

Like the guys said, and switch it on, and walk around the car to see which light is not working. Replace the bulb even if it looks ok. Clean the contacts on the bulb holder if you can before installing a new bulb. Check it works before fitting the cover back on.

If your rear blinker is working you may need to replace the front socket. This happened on my passenger side both lights worked but blinked fast.replaced the socket on the front and it fixed it

I have a similar issue except it's a bit more elaborate. When I turn on right signal, it could 1. blink very fast and the fog light on dash may intermittenly come on, or 2. blink very fast and my high beam front light may intermittenly come on. I could negate this rapid blinking and (other lights coming on) by switching to night light and turning on the switch for the rear fog light to come on. Then everything becomes okay for now. I tried switching out different combination of light bulbs and it's not fixed by any means. For example when I switched out the rear right turn signal light bulb, the new bulb had the same problem and worse, the other lights were coming on more often? I have a 1996 - 850 - base, 4dr sedan, auto trans, first owner.....

You have one or more bad grounds Aldo make sure you don’t fix up the ‘fog lamp’ bulb with the ‘ lamp failure ‘ warning bulb
