camshaft tuning for fuel economy?

Post by nmontague81 » Thu May 21, 2020 8:01 pm

Is it possible to tune the 850 camshaft timing for better fuel economy? I have IPD's cam timing tool and was wondering if I could increase my MPG rather than my acceleration.

most probably not. I guess fuel economy was quite high up on Volvo's list when designing these cars.

You can get a little torque improvement and higher MPG by advancing intake cam 5-8 degrees. You will suffer some loss at high revs.
