Green Module in Trunk

Post by blindcreek42 » Sun May 24, 2020 6:37 pm

Hi Folks ... First Time Posting
Bought my first Volvo which is 2006 S60 AWD. Used this site for things to look for etc before buying and this site is a great resource.
Now for my question because I've searched and can't find the answer.
When you open the access for rear lights in trunk on passenger side... At the bottom hanging over the edge there is a little green coloured plastic box. It sounds very light and hollow when you tap it. Looks like a reset button (?) on it beside a heavy quite rigid cable.
What is it ?
Thx
Steve

Do you have backup sensors? If so it may be an antenna booster. Does it look like this?

If I did have back-up sensors ... Didn't know I did.
Yes ... That is what the creature looks like and antenna wire makes sense.

Think I've been close enough to things backing up that something should have gone beep beep.
Hmmm
Thx

Unless you need the back-up beeps (or want "everything working") I'd ignore it.

The system in my '07 works sometimes. It's often whisper quiet. At times it doesn't function at all.

As long as the cheap toy doesn't trigger a code/light I'm OK with it.

Thx for help ... I don't care if everything works provided it doesn't trigger a code that triggers something else

Maybe worth a try. Saw this and apologise it refers to a BMW!!

I just finished repairing the back up sensors on my sons XC70. In our case it was a bad sensor.
